i am in the process of breaking down and rebuilding my bike. The only problem is that when i try to remove the crank arm bolt, it turns about 1.5 turns and then stops...How do I remove the bolt??? The crank is either an 02 or 03 xt octalink. Thanks

I am not too familiar, but

It sounds as if they have a self extracting crank bolt, the resistance you feel is when the bolt starts to take the arm off the BB.
