I'm currently living/working In Germany and moving back to the Fayetteville. area. I ride mostly MTB XC & Singlespeed. Living in Germany has spoiled me and I'm not quite sure what to expect in terms of MTB trail availability in/near that area. Please respond if you can give me any help:)

Chopperguth,

You can try this group: http://mountainbikes.meetup.com/149/

It's a fairly new group with a few armed forces members. Are you in the armed forces? Smith Lake is their most often used trail. Bryce, one of the assistant organizers, is a member of TORC and organized his own carpooling group to carpool to the Raleigh trails as often as possible. He will be a good contact. If you don't mind driving, come visit the Raleigh area or Sanford area to ride with us any time. Governor's Creek, San Lee and Harris Lake will be your next closest trails. Here's another helpful website: http://www.trianglemtb.com/sanford.php

E-mail or PM anytime.

I'm not in the military but will be working on Ft. Bragg. Thanks for the info. I'll check out the websites. I know this isn't a housing site, but any reccomendations for good family friendly areas to live? I look forward to riding with you.

Good info here, Gov's and San Lee have really improved a lot over the last couple years, and there is more in store. They are the closest.

Also, for good XC riding, don't forget to check out Uharrie trails, which are a little more west, and a bit more hilly.
