hey,
im doing a little overhaul of my specilized bighit and have managed to loose one of the "top hat style washers(photos below)"

has anyone had any luck with getting their hand on some new ones?
if so where did you buy them from? or where should i go looking for them?

maybe call specialized or your LBS??

You are probably going to have to get them from Specialized via your local Spec. dealer. Most parts like this are completely proprietary to the company. Not only just in design (ie top hat design) but sizing as well.

A "top hat washer" is something completely different.

What you're looking for is actually called a "shoulder washer".
A "shoulder washer" acts as an isolator/retainer/reducer and
are used in all kinds of applications. For us they are used as a retainer/reducer.

I too have been trying to source metric "shoulder washers" with little luck.
If I want hundreds of the damn things, there's all kinds of companies to choose from.

Special order from Specialized through your LBS is probably the only way.
Or a friend with a machine shop. Or a small length of metric tubing as a reducer
and an over-sized washer as a retainer.
