I'll be in vegas from june 10-13 without my bike, and without access to a car. I'm from Florida and have never had the chance to ride somewhere as awesome as Bootleg Canyon and it sickens me to be so close yet so far.

I am going to try and rent a bike from All Mountain Cyclery. Anyone have ideas on how I can get to Bootleg Canyon ? Are there any shuttles that ride out there daily or can I get a ride with someone? I will pay for a ride, but I just graduated from college and don't have a lot of dough.

Please help!

Once you are at All Mountain Cycle, its less than 5 min. pedal to the trails.

I'm flying in sans bike from Idaho and will be there from the 24th - 26th. I just found out that the Henderson REI is having a bike demo day there from like 9am - 3pm. I'm a parttime REI employee up here in Boise and I see that one line of bikes they are demo'ing and that I can prodeal is K2. Anyhoo....

Here is info on the demo day:

1) How far is Henderson from the central Strip (We're staying at Bally's)?
2) How far is Bootleg Canyon from REI and the central Strip?

Thanks

Nick

The Henderson REI is part of the shopping centre attached to Green Valley Ranch casino. It's probably about 15-20 miles from the Strip, but if you look for directions to Grren Valley Ranch rather than Henderson itself, you'll find it with no problems. Otherwise you'll end up in Henderson proper and have to go through a bunch of roadworks to get there.

Bootleg Canyon in in Boulder City, which is probably another 15-20 miles or so from REI. It's pretty easy to get there from the Strip... you can either take the freeway (515) or Boulder Highway, and you just keep driving until you get to Boulder City (there are signposts for BC and Hoover Dam). To get there from REI, take the 215 east until it becomes a big nasty jumble of roadworks, then hop on the 515.

I'm bored at work so I drew a crappy map. Enjoy!

Boulder City itself is a quaint little place for your mom to hang out. There are a few antique shops, some nice cafes and no casinos. If she likes looking around antique/souvenir shops she'll be fine for a couple of hours.
