Help me choose a dj/street helmet
All the Coconut's I have tried feel like they sit on top of my head rather then protecting the the part that it covers. My head isnt unusually large though im most likely a (L). I guese you could say I want something with a bit more coverage or at least something that feels that way.
Tell me what you use and maybe what I can go and try cos im about to give up and might just go out and buy a FF even if i will look like a dork riding urban with it.
If i end up getting a FF it will likely be a remedy of the carbon nature as the standard model feel a bit heavy. If all else fails ill just have to use my trail helmet to protect me for the time being.

I tried the bell and the 661 mullet neither felt right for me.
Ive had good luck with pro-tecs over the years. Any skate or bike helmet should work great

Those pro-tec's look nice im having a hard time to locate a Singapore dealer for them though.

I use the pro-tec cyphon. The visor does take some getting used to if you do not normally ride with a visor but other than that I love it. The adjustable boa system also makes it a very good fit and will ensure that it will not leave your head. The only downside is that it is a bit pricey compared to skate helmets but what would you rather do, spend a little extra money on a helmut or live the rest of your life with a head injury?
For DJ I would say full face. For street a skate type helmet would be fine depending on how crazy you get. I've ridden with some pretty insane people on the street and they all wore skate type helmets. Try: www.danscomp.com they have both.

if you want a helmet that doesnt sit on your head, but around it with a little more protection, look at "bern" helmets.
They offer around 5 models, with or without vents, with or without visors depending on the model.
They offer eps (hard, one impact foam) and brock foam (spongey, multiple impact foam with no safety rating). The helmets with brock foam are called hard hats.
If you ski or board, bern helmets also have cold weather options, with clip in ear pads or hats that cover the back of your neck. And a goggle strap.
Bern helmets also cover farther down the back and side of your head more than your typical helmet.
Seriously, super super sick helmets at just a little more than most companies.BB

I always use my fullface, and it has protected my face from being minced on many faceplants and endo's.

Again thanks for all the recomendations. Certainly some worthy options being mentioned and some awesome links that I might use in the future. That dans link would make a good place to buy some DC;s and the prices seem very reasonable to me.
I have been trying a lot of helmets this wknd and it seems to be a pain in the butt to get something that fit right. I ended up getting a 661 Dirt lid which was perfect and only $45 singapore dollar. The Giro Remedy FF carbon that I was going to get had a few problems as the one that the shop ordered looked like it had a few hard impacts with the ground already as it had cracs in verious places. So I ended ordering a 661 Evolusion carbon from the same shop that sold me the dirt lid. Apparently they come with a crash replacement scheme like most do now-a-days and the good thing is that it felt a bit better then the remedy. In fact I was so happy to finally get a helmet/s that fit my head I ordered a new set of gloves, got my self a new pair of freeride shorts and some park tool bits. The customer service was great and that just made my first real ride on my new Mob so much more fun.

Try a Giro Feature, side and rear coverage. It actually fits my head instead of just sitting on top of it.

Even though you've bought a helmet I would recommend getting a Met Parachute,especially if you live in Singapore, you will cook if you wear any other full face helmet.

If you're doing some serious jumping at some point you will crash,it's good to have something that will protect your face. I've already taken someone to ER, and she lost a tooth. Protecting your face is a must especially if you're riding in the city concrete is not soft.
