5823 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  127.0.0.1
i always love my magura mt7 because there is no fading in power, but i clipped a tree last week hitting my right brake lever to the tree, after that there is no power at all.i just bled and change the pads 2months ago so i think its not the issue.. What to do? Did someone here experienced it?

thank you

There may be a leakage some where and doesn't transfer the reguired liguid pressure. Propably dissmantling your lever and see what has broken, is the way to go.

Okay i will check it!!
Hopefully its not the master cylinder
Thank yo
The issue with these is that there is hidden air in the lever - even the factory bleed from Magura isn't correct.

Hitting the lever in a crash, or upending the bike in a certain way, dislodges the air and it goes into the brake system.

The lever is designed not to be able to be taken apart, but I have cut one up to figure out whats going on.

Send me an email to [email protected] and I'll forward over some pictures explaining the problem and how to sort it.

Will try and upload them into this thread when not on my phone.

Hey I'd be interested to know what you found with the lever? Any tips for getting a good consistent bleed?!
Here's the pics - hope they help / make sense!

Bleed as "normal" for Magura (from bottom up with a syringe) but follow the steps below, you'll be good to go. No more issues.

Note that the tarnsfer port is shut off when the lever is pulled, so there is no pressure on the EBT screw - this is why it needs VERY little torque, just enough to keep it in place under it's own weight. It does NOT provide any sealing under pressure.

I bet you blew the piston seal.

I did

as far as air in system... magura often needs mini bleed after mini bleeds sometimes
but once you finally get that last bubble out, awesome brakes
Oh thats tremendous! Thanks very much

thanks for the pics AdamR83...

I now follow the Magura official mini bleed procedure and this
explains the tilting of the lever back and forth to work the bubbles around
