I've been lurking around for a while reading as much as i can and finally made the decision to make my own bike light for off rode riding. For my first light i wanted to start with something simple so here was my plan i wanted to convert a duel Viewpoint halogen light-set into a duel led

Here is my part list for the light head

Older style Duel black Marwi Halogen light
2x Marwi SSC P7 heat sink
2x Machined 35mm aluminum reflector
2x Glass 34.8mm diameter
2x Judco Switch Boot with internal nut
New style Marwi Handle Bar Mount

For the power I went with el34 old 18650 battery pack wired in series/parallel
4 Blue TrustFire 2500mAh Batteries - Fully Charged at 8.4v

For the Driver i went with a cheap DX Driver sku.3256
3.6V~9V 800mA Regulated IC Circuit Board for Cree and SSC LEDs (4-pack)

and for the LED's i went with sku.2394
Cree XR-E Q5 Emitter on Premium Star (228LM at 1A)

i just have a few questions
1- I was just wondering what kind of output should i be expecting in Lumens from the lightset?
2- what should be the expected ideal run time?
3- on the driver board I should connect the negative to the outer ring and the positive to the inner?

1. From the Cree XR-E datasheet driving at 800 mA you should expect around 1.9 x 107 = 203 lumens from each LED, so around 400 lumens total.

2. Runtime = 0.8 x Vbat/Vled x mAh/mA

= 0.8 x 7.4/7.2 x 5000/800 = ~ 5 hrs 8 mins

3. Yes, outer ring -ve, inner ring +ve.
