Hi friends!
I'm restoring a Trek Y-bike from 98 and have only the rear brake left to get working. As you may know, these bikes have the 22mm mount and it is impossible to use an adapter (too tight). So my question to you all is: Does anyone have an old 22mm caliper for sale? It doesn't have to be in mint condition, it only has to work.

Thanks in advance!

The easiest solution would be this.

Hayes 22mm & Hope 22mm calipers occasionally turn up on ebay.

As these calipers are hard to find and they haven't been made many years, will it be easy to find spare parts for this type of brake if they are needed ?

I thought about using V-brakes, but then I have to change the rear wheel. Also, the front fork only accepts disc brakes so it would look a little strange with a disc/rim brake combo...
I have tried an A2Z adapter, but it didn't fit in the small angle of the URT.

Plenty of bikes were sold in the late 1990's to early 2000's with a v-brake on the back and a disc brake on the front.

If you want to mount a disc brake on the rear there's a couple of other ways of doing it.

This way: http://2btherapy.com/bikes/brake-therapy-conversion-kit

or this which is basically the same thing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Woodman-Components-DISCO-BRAKE-ADAPTER

or the DM-UNI: http://www.a2zcomponents.com/02products_04adapter_05.html

Personally I wouldn't bother putting a disc brake on it, most braking should be done with the front brake and that's where you'd see the most benefit from a disc brake.

I'd just ride it 'mullet' style, disc brake on the front and a v-brake on the back.

Is this what your looking for?

Circa 2000 if I remember correctly, includes adapter. Needs brake pads, a bleed I'm sure and the brake lever/MC is missing the handlebar clamp.

Make me an offer, it's been sitting in my parts bin for the last decade.
