Just go my SRAM XX brakes.

I have the 185mm front rotor. The SRAM XX box only contained a IS adapter for the 185mm rotor. They did not include a post-mount adapter. How dumb, Rock Shox doesn't even make an IS fork any more (well, I guess the Pike still has IS mounts).

My Elixir adapter almost fits. Any one else have a a SRAM XX 185mm front brake with a post-mount adapter--is there a special XX adapter???

Did your box have an IS adapter in it?? Maybe mine was missing.

My front 185 mm XX had both adapters in the box. The PM-PM adapter looks the same as the older Juicy adapter (with the rounded shape), just different color (see pic, adapter #1). I see no reason why your Elixir adapter wouldn't fit, or any other Avid 185 mm PM-PM adapter.

Thanks!!

I went out to my shop, and on the floor was the XX 185mm PM adapter--it had fallen out of the box.

For the record, the XX caliper adapter is subtly different than the Elixir caliper and does not really fit. The Ti PM bolts begin to bend as you tighten them onto the Elixir caliper.

Also, for the record, the XX adapter is exactly the same as the juicy 185 adapter (except for color).

I am aware of the difference in the calipers (I have both XX and Elixir CR's) but I was sure they mounted to the adapter in an identical way... At least I'm running my front 185 mm XX brake with an Elixir adapter with no apparent problem:

That's odd as my Elixir adapter caused the caliper to start bind/bend as you tighten the Ti bolts on my 2010 Revelation. The XX version fits perfectly.

How do you like the XX brake on all-mountain riding??

Unfortunately I haven't had an opportunity to test the XX in real mountains yet, and all we do here is trail riding at most. Besides, winter has begun, so braking power is less important now that I ride a lot slower, with the snow, studded tires and all that.

That said, the brakes are fine and now that they have broken in I don't feel any large loss of power compared to the Elixir CR's I had before them.
