For those familiar with the Bell Super 3R, there's a little plastic hook that engages with the metal latch to hold the two end of the chin bar together at the back of the helmet. Mine snapped off the other day. Rather than spend $75 on new bar I headed off to the hardware store:

A+ for your ingenuity.

Just curious, did this break due to an accident or impact? If not, Bell gets an F. Plastic hook? You may have shown everyone a good reason not to buy this helmet.

I woud think this might be covered under warranty?

It snapped putting the chin bar on, admittedly I was doing it whilst wearing the helmet so probably tried to close the latch whilst it was on the end of the hook?

It’s not a structural part of the chin bar.

I will contact Bell re. warranty.

WTF is even that?

A ski boot bail?

On a helmet?
The Super 3R is a convertible helmet so you can run it as a full-face or a half-lid. The chin bar is attached with three latches, one on either side near the ears/temples that are the structural attachment and then that single latch on the rear to hold the two ends of the chin bar together.
