Good for new buyers, however second hand prices will plummet.

Also this makes the Heckler £899 and LT2 £1699, is it really worth nearly twice as much for VPP?
Seems like the obvious move with the introduction of the Nickel and Butcher.
It is a common marketing tactic to offer products that will appeal to as many market segments as possible. Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe, all full size SUV's by the same company at different price points for different markets.

Heckler, Butcher, Nomad, etc.
Hah

What is "Jobbing downhill"? Is it more than AM but less than DH?

With the price drop of the frame and component price rises over the past year my 2008 build still works out cheaper. :D

Fair play to SC. I bet they shift a load more now.
Did I read that right they will only be offered in 2 colors per model? Or adding new shades of red and black?
That's what it says. It looks like
Superlight - red or black
heckler - green or black
juliana - white or blue
Not new news........Santa Cruz stared that they were going to lower the price on these ashen they introduced the Butcher and Nickel.
Is it just me or is thedown tube-top tube weld way different than before. I know they took out the triangle weld piece on the 2010..but this 2010/2011 looks heftier than the old 2010...not as hefty as 2009 and prior. Like the down tube looks like much much more curvy

Previous version with more metal. Must be a cost reduction thing.

Interesting. I can see how removing the triangular center gusset would be possible by curving the down tube to get more contact with the top tube, but I'm surprised they eliminated the top and bottom gussets as well
depends what frame size? i think small - medium the curve in frame becomes greater and possibly affects the weld piece?
Well it looks like I 'll be holding on to my 2008 black ano Heckler for a long time. I don't like the new weld without the gusset and I prefer ano finish over powdercoat.

Per the SC website.....the new front triangle is now lighter.......so this would probably be part of it.
