I plan on purchasing a new heart rate monitor to hopefully aid me in training over the winter. I would be using the "Training Bible" to setup my traing plan, and was wondering if the Polar S120 would be suitable, not really sure if I would really need all the other features of the more expensive HRM's.

If not the S120, which HRM would you recommend.

I just picked up an Oregon Scientific HRM for $34.99 at Circuit City. I don't really need all of the other features. It has a "zone alarm" and a few other goodies, and is compatible with the Polar HRM built into the cycle and treadmill at my gym.

Maybe take a look at the S150, you can find them online for around $70 and it's the one I was looking at until I got lucky and got a S725 at a super deal :D :D :D :D The S725 is just so sweet with more features than you know what to do with - at first - But I'm getting the hang of it and finally found an iRDA device for my comp to transfer the data in and analize the few rides I've been on.

Make up ur mind...you want to talk on mtbr or mmba?
Actually swince the gist of this is that mmba is another site, would this not mean that you also visit/solicit that site?

*Mtn Muncher I'd say if that's true go for the S210 then as being able to get results from all 3 zones would give you much more useful info.

Take a look at the Sports Instruments ECG Pro 9 Heartrate Monitor. It has a lot of features and tracks the amount and percentage of time you spend in 5 training zones during your workout. I dont know the price of the other monitors you are looking at, but glorycycles has the Pro 9 on sale for $99. I got one last year and have been very happy. http://www.glorycycles.com/glorycycles/spinecgpro9h.html
