I recently recieved a 1989 Trek 8000 hardtail mountain bike from my dad. The bike has a nice frame but no front suspension. I would like add a front suspension fork but would need to get a new headset. However, the current Deore headset is a sealed headset. Does anyone have any useful advice for removing a sealed headset and installing a new one? Also, would a new headset fit the old frame?

You probably need a 1" headset for that bike would be my guess (1-1/8" are most common nowadays); many roadbikes still use 1" headsets and they are available. However, that's not the case for suspension forks in a 1" size. What fork do you plan on using? Last I looked Marzocchi still offered one, but can't think of any others that do.
