Hi All

As a pandemic goal, I wanted to build a bike from the frame up and learn how to tune it. I've almost got it all completed but am stuck at figuring out the right headset.

The frame is a classic 1998 Giant ATX 890. internal dimensions of the head tube is greater than 40 mm. I picked up an Orbit IS headset but it looks to be the wrong one. Below is a pick of the head tube.

Am I missing something? Head tube cups? ES vs IS?

Thanks!

Okay, that looks much closer to 44MM on the ID, a digital caliper will be more accurate on the measurement but lets assume it is at this point. I'm also going to assume the steerer tube is straight 1 1/8". Then, according to the links provided it is the one in the first example in the BIG BOLD BLUE letters, Upper Stack ZS44/28.6 with Lower Stack ZS44/30. The Tree Fort bike site also lists the replacement for the original to be the same so this does seem to confirm the correct type and size. See attached links.
