Good evening,
I have recently received an Intense Tracer which has a 1.5" head tube.

I have ordered this headset to go with it: 1.5" to 1-1/8th

I am getting myself mixed up with what forks are compatible with it, do they have to be tapered steerer tube forks? or will straight ones work? Am i limmited to 1-1/8th steerer tubes?

I am looking at 160mm forks or thereabouts such as:

and
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=30248
and

Or recommend me a fork, looking at about £500

Help a newbie out please :)

I'm confused. Why get a reducer headset if you don't already have a fork you like that you want to move to this bike? Get a 1.5 headset and a 1.5 steerer tube fork. The bike manufacturer obviously felt the frame warranted the burlier fork, why limit yourself?

I kinda thought of that too, but it appeared as the OP already got a headset.

Personally I'd start with the fork first, THEN decide in the headset.
That way you wouldn't be limited on the steerer size/taper
