Heads up on Hartshorne & ferry access from NYC

Some guys told me to check out Hartshorne and to get the south ferry there from NYC.
As I just moved to NYC how accessible is this and whats it like?
I am SS if anyone wants to go check it out?

I was at Hartshorne two weeks ago. Some advanced technical trails, lots of fun!
