Hi guys 'n' gals

I need a little feedback on a mountain bike I'm looking to buy. Here are two that have taken my fancy:

http://www.visp-sports.com/product/90/477/696

and

http://www.konabikes.co.uk/2k6bikes/blast_2k6.php

I initially had the idea of a hardtail and am aware that the visp offers some rear suspension.

Uses? Riding to work and off-road fun stuff.

Thanks for your help. :)
Hi, I don't know much about the Visp bike. Kona is a good brand and a good value. How closely are they priced?

The Kona Blast has much better components. If you want to get into a FS bike you need to plan on spending more money to get good components.
I'm just getting into mountain biking at the mo', plus I've already pushed my budget to beyond my initial potential spend of £150 until I realised that that little bit of money will not get me a good bike.

Thank you both for your feedback, I'm very greatful. The Kona it is! :)

Which bikes would you recommend for a max of £500?

Just spoke to a good friend of mine about the Kona who has been mountain biking for a while, and he'll be getting back to me on better specs for the same money than that offered by the Kona.

I wondered if you guys had any suggestions as well? :D

Cheers.

I was looking into the Specialized range. The Specialised 2006 Hardrock Pro looks very attractive. I also would still like to find the Kona Blast 2005 simply because I prefer the black frame.

These are the only other bikes that I can say that I'm interested in. :)
I am lucky that ive been on both those bikes,There both great frames but the Hardrock feels a little better in the way of handling but the Kona Climbs better, The Hardrock also has better components,Out of them 2 go for the Hardrock just becuase it has better components,

Cheers Imperial.

I am swaying towards the Hardrock as I've heard that I'd be getting a better spc for my money. When I actually go to the bike shop tomorrow I'll give them both a try, but I do feel that I will be going home with the Specialized!
