i need to replace my pads and am wondering which type would be better as a replacement--metallic or semi-metallic. i ride in the sf bay area, not a lot in really wet conditions, about twice a week. basic xc rider but i do a decent amount of climbs/descents based on my local terrain. thanks.

Actually the question should be sintered metalic or semi-metalic. The sintered metalic pads have a longers life and stop better. Actually, to be honest, I haven't notice a huge difference in the stopping power between the two brake pads, but the longer life has me sold.
