Joined the forum as I have a problem with my hayes hfx9 brakes. Been using them for years, and they're steady. However, the brake is currently coming in all the way on the lever. Pads are fine, rotor is clean and it was bled about 6 months ago. Rode today with hardly any power on the front brake.

Seems to lose power regularly these days.

Any ideas welcome.

It sounds like you need to bleed your brakes. You can buy a bleed kit or take it in the your LBS to have it done.

I have the same brakes... had the same problem. Someone bled them for me and they now work perfect. Shop around for best prices cuz its expensive. I was able to find it super cheap compared to the rest. $30 total for both. You might as well put some pads in if you thinking of keeping the bike for a while.

Sometimes you can find them on sale for 40,bucks with rotor.Then everything is prebled and new.

lol You should of mentioned that from the beginning. Anyways, yeah just buy some new ones since its not worth fixing.
