Some of the recent Hawes-Pass Mtn chatter on this forum left me salivating, so to get rid of the drool I'm going to do the ride this Sunday. Would be great to have some company if anyone else is up for this epic journey. Will probably start at the Twisted Sister trailhead at mm 23.5 on the Bush hwy, out Wild Horse, Pass Mtn loop, back on Wild Horse, up Twisted Sister, around Hawes, and back down Wild Horse. If memory serves me correctly, which is highly questionable these days, it is about 40 miles. A great ride would be doing the Wild Horse Pass Mtn loop if anyone was interested in joining for that segment. Start time ????

Update: Ride day has been changed again, and at least 2 of us will start at 7:30 AM from my house, which is 12 miles from Hawes via canal path. If anyone is interested let me know and you can start with us or meet us at Hawes.

Craig,
That was great beat down last year, but unfortunately I can't make a go of it tomorrow.

Sam
Hey Sam,
Chad and I are slowly figuring out what day of the week it is. We are now going to do the ride on Sunday, so if that would work for you it would be great to have you join us.

I'll prolly do the Hawes\PM myself at about 8 on Sat from the Walgreens, the burly version returning over the Tower trail.

long day by myself, but i needed the headspace. Took the Heckler so i could do a line at NRA and come back via Tower and ride hard on Pass Mountain. There is one slot on Tower that i have chickened out on twice now, but i got all the rest, the Las Sendas staircase, and the new secret ;) rock line at the bottom of Upper Mudflaps. Big bike epic, took about the same time as when i last did the XC version of the East Mesa Epic, but with more gnar and very tired legs. 5 hrs, 4.5 moving. 5500 feet.
