Have trouble stabilizing right shoulder and retracting scapula when riding

As the title stated, I am having difficulty stabilizing my right shoulder when riding which creates a lot of issues for me. I end up hiking the shoulder for stability which in turn tightens the scalenes. I am currently working on this off the bike with strength and mobilization. I am curious if anyone else has this problem and if they have any pre-ride activations or mental cues. Thanks!

Check with a doc of course, but most likely a previous injury led to muscle imbalance/atrophy. For me, 4-6 weeks of physical therapy with a DPT who is knowledgable about shoulder injuries, followed by making the exercises I learned part of a regular strengthening/ROM program, worked very well. I made the mistake of stopping the exercise for a couple months, and the symptoms reappeared. In my case it is a combination of a labral tear, partial rotator cuff tear, and lingering effects from a shoulder separation.

Get it checked out and an Ultrasound if it doesnt clear up with some treatment. Without knowing what is going on it could be a lot of things, but a supraspinatus injury is the most common shoulder injury via visual diagnosis. heres two links for some scap stability and some rotator cuff injuires. I would have to dig into it to figure out what is going on tho.
