I was just curious if anyone has tried an angleset on the Anthem X 29er? Was it a worthwile upgrade or did you just screw up the perfect geometry?

I haven't tried it, and likely wouldn't. While the bike is an inspired XC ride, when you get into steeper terrain (which is where I'd want to slack out the head angle some, going down) any additional confidence in the bike could be misplaced. It's important to remember this frame is one of, if not the lightest AL FS 29er frames available, and as such, it tends to react poorly to being over stressed. Just a thought.

I tried the Works Components Angleset on my Jamis AMT frame and works great.

The AX29 strongest asset IMO is the climbing. Best climbing bike I've ridden hands down. I attribute that to the steep HT angle and long stays.

Yes, the climbing abilities are hilarious. You just point and pedal and the bike goes up no matter the terrain.
