Some say it will work , some say it will not.
Does anyone have any experience with it?
I talked to Santa Cruz and they said it's a tough fit.
Has anyone done it?

Thanks.
Call Speedgoat. They installed a Saint 22/32 crankset and E-13 DRS guide on my VP-Free, and everything is perfect. No issues with chainline or anything else.

I did and you won't believe what they told me......

I asked them if they ever installed Saint cranks on a VP Free and he said " yes I did but I cannot remember what we did to get them to fit."
He tried to help, but just could not remember.
So, I'm hoping someone out there has done it themselves.

Thanks for your help.

Sounds very lame...

Well, if it helps, here is the crankset that was spec'd on my 2005 VP-Free :

Shimano Saint® FC-M800 Integrated Crankset
Double, 22t/32t/Bash Guard, 170mm
