Hmm

I think the Nickel has a longer top tube and a tapered head tube while my Blur LT has a short top tube at 23.5" and a standard head tube. The 24" top tube might be nice. I bet a guy would have to be pretty bike sensitive to feel the difference in ride but I have never ridden an APP bike.

Yeah the Nickel does seem to have a different setup but I'm really interested in knowing if anyone was used to a Blur but felt the Nickel a better bike? Probably a bit like comparing a Gallardo to a Mercialago really but still... :)

I haven't ridden the Nickel but I've built up a couple and ridden them around the parking lot. I think the Nickel is quite a bit heavier, and has as much in common (in terms of design) with the Super Light as it does a Blur. The SL and the Blur are very different beasts. I would imagine the Nickel would have ride characteristics of both.
The Nickel is as much a single pivot frame as anything, and would probably produce a little brake jack. The feel of the travel through out the stroke is supposedly very similar to the blur, but the ride as a whole should be quite different.
If you don't have the money to get VPP then consider APP. There is a reason the APP bikes cost less.
