Has anybody PUSHed a Scalpel?

I have a Fox Float L on my 2003 Scalpel and it has a good 2.5 years worth of use on it. It probably would not hurt to be recharged and the seals checked. As long as I am having it done, I thought I may as well look at PUSH and the stable platform upgrade. Since the shock is a shorter stroke than most bikes and the Scalpel is only 2.75" of travel, I am curious if it is a worthwhile upgrade. I rarely use my lockout except on the road and don't think I would miss it.

Anyone do this and have feedback?

Anyone? I emailed PUSH, but I suspect they are in the middle of their move and it may be a little while before I hear a response.
Generally speaking, PUSH will improve the performance of any Fox shock. But it's not going to turn your Scapel into a full plush trail bike. PUSH will make the most of what you have though. Your shock is due for service anyway so you don't have much to lose.
Don't waste your money

Not worth it on such a short travel bike. I'd stick with the float and just get it routinely serviced. You don't need any platforming on this bike either.

A regular servicing from fox costs about the same as the servicing AND upgrade from push.

Push will custom valve the shock to your preferences.

I believe push removes the lockout lever when they do their upgrade. As you state that you rarely use it I dont see that as a negative.

The turn around time for PUSH is FAST. I live in Canada, when I had a shock that I sent to fox it took 3 weeks. PUSH did my float R in under 7 days round trip.

My $.02

Hey oo6-007 how much did it cost including postage to get your shock done. I'm thinking of sending in a Vanilla r shock and I too live in Soviet Canuckistan.

I think it was something like $150US plus shipping. I opted for the "factory tuing system". Was absolutely worth the price. I found after they custom tuned it that I actually ran @ 10% less air pressure and yet achieved the same amount of sag. This made the shock feel more plush once it started moving, but it is more difficult to activate the shock by just pedalling (I guess that is what a stable platform essentially is)
