Just wondering if anybody here has actually cracked a cromoly spindle of any type of pedal? and if so what pedal was it?

No, but a couple of years ago, I snapped the driveside of a tapered square bottom bracket. It was kinda cool, but it was a long walk back to the truck.

Yup, both were Crank Brothers; a Mallet C and a Candy C, within 2 weeks of each other. FWIW, the Mallets were on a commuter bike at the time
