Being a new mountain biker, I don't have much for comparison to other bikes but I'm loving my 2014 Flightline carbon 29er! Was just out pounding the trails a few hours ago. I'm 6'/225 lbs and feel very confident on it. I've got about 80 pretty hard miles on it thus far and all is good. Shifts nicely, stops great, takes a lickin'.
About the only thing I may change would be the front tire. It came with Kenda Small Block Eights and when the trails get slick the front occasionally tries to wash out in turns from lack of bite. (My one and only wipe out thus far was from this very thing.)
I have a flightline trail 27.5. Put 180 hard miles on it so far. I'll echo what 80pro-line said, it puts up with beatings and the stock kenda tires have no grip. For $700 I feel like I got what I paid for which is a good thing. The geometry on this bike feels like it puts my center of weight too much over the front, combine that with the weak stock tires and I've slipped out twice on the corners.
I'm 5'7 and I got a 16" frame, it felt better than the 18". I'm used to riding specialized bikes and the haro feels more solid than my P1 and my rockhopper but the geometry on the bike just doesn't feel right so it gives me less confidence when I feel like I'm leaning too far forward.
I bought it because at the price point it offered more than what the other bikes had at the time. With a couple upgrades I think this will be a solid ride.
