Why can't you put a 150mm plus fork on a hardtail. isn't more better for drops and such?

mostly due to stress/angles on the headtube.

Some hardtails can take bigger forks. The Chameleon can take 160mm and I've seen another hardtail designed to take a DC fork.

there are HT's that can have up to 8inch travle forks, such as the evil imperial or banshee morphine

I rode a hole season with a HT with 6" DC fork, DH,DJ,FR, ever few races... no problem what so ever...

Now I gonna be rocking this with 7"
