Dang that guy wacked... but he makes a mean FS..
His FS was the shizzle. What is weird is, is that he was already convicted on the murder rap, even though they didn't have a body. It was all on circumstantial evidence. I'm suprised he didn't try to battle it out in appeals court. Dude was extremely smart though. Must of been out did by his own intelligence (and a slight anger management problem.)

Where is Redwood park was this?
My wife tried to go for a hike in Redwood yesterday afternoon, unaware this was going down. She cut it short because of the noise of the helicopters. Still, she was out long enough to see that there was police tape closing off the entrance to the Bay Area Ridge Trail that heads North off East Ridge just out of the Skyline Gate parking lot. That section of trail goes from East Ridge, behind some houses, and pops out at the intersection of Skyline and Pinehurst. So no facts from me, but sounds like the body was off that trail.

That guys lawyer is scum bag. He was all over the news complaining how many police there were to escort Hans to the site and how well armed they were with assualt rifles. And how poor Hans had to stand there in hand cuffs for 4 hours, all sweaty while the police did their work. Oh poor Hans, he had to get sweaty, while Nina was being eaten by maggits. All this because no one believe his claims of innocense. And now because he cares about her family and wants them to have closure, he leads them to the body. But I thought he said he was innocent. Oh yeah and how about a reduced sentence, since he is such a nice guy. Rot in hell Hans.

It's not a bad FS. I rode it a few times. It's a bit of a progressive linkage with a high-leverage ratio, nothing that can't be fixed with a good shock. The quadruple-pivot design is cutting edge.

I hear he makes a mean filesystem for computers...

Hey now. Biking Brazilian is neither a visitor nor a beginner. Let's tone those caps down.

And how do we talk down to those who are neither visitors nor beginners, anyway? I want to show my arrogance to all.

Diarhea of the mouth

It's kind of funny, Reiser was convicted solely because he couldn't STFU. The police didn't have any real way of pinning the crime on him, he insisted (against his lawyers recommmendation) in taking the stand and testifying. The DA just shredded the guy. He concocted the most bizarre excuses for why his (ex)wife's blood was in the car and for pretty much everything he did. In spite of a total lack of evidence the jury was stuck between believing Reiser's ridiculous fabrications or concluding that he was guilty.

As for his FS... *shrug* from what I gather he was his own worst enemy there also. He basically built his own kernel tree then went hog wild... then after he was done tried to shove a bunch of changes into the mainline kernel in order to accomodate it. Trying to change things outside his own file system in order to accomodate it. Whatever his genius was it does not involve working in a team or dealing well with people.

Huckleberry, not Redwood Park

Morgan
actually, according to the article;
"The body was down a steep hillside that runs next to a hiking trail in the 8200 block of Skyline Boulevard."
That area is technically not Redwood but is pretty close. much closer than to Huckleberry RP which is down the road and on the other side of pinehurst.
I drove by there last night on the way to a friend's house. umpteen news trucks on a bend in Skyline and really bright lights set up on the ridge that were visible from the other side of pinehurst.
FWIW, Hans buried her in a spot that had a really pretty view.

Maybe sometime when the excitement dies down i want to take a ride or hike up there jsut to see exactly where the spot was.(hope that doesnt' sound morbid) i'm pretty sure i've ridden by that spot a few dozen times in the last couple years.
