I'm looking for a new set of Handlebars for an '06 Devinci Wilson frameset. I had the RF Diabolus bars on my last ride and really loved the shape and feel that they had. However, for the new frame I'd like something in silver to match the rest of the components (no black at all on the bike, except for the tires), and on the Raceface website it says the Diabolus bars don't come in silver (the Diabolus stem however does?). Does anyone have any suggestions for a good hardcore handlebar, with a 1.5-2" rise, 28" width, for 31.8mm clamp stems that comes in silver? Thanks.

Not really silver but.....

I run Answer Pro-Taper bars on my sled and have never had a problem with them. They are light, strong and the rise and sweep is perfect, for me at least. Mine have a 2" rise and an 8 deg. sweep, a little less than most bars, but to me the difference is quite noticeable and feels great, no wrist soreness after a few hours in the saddle.

They used to be pretty expensive, but recently have come down in price a bit, and that makes them almost a necessity now for a high quality bar. Did I mention how light and strong they are? As with any aluminum product, they have a limited fatigue life, but no shorter than most others.

Here's where the "but" comes in.....they come in 3 shot-peened anodized colors, black, gold and titanium colored. I am not sure if you absolutely have to have polished bars, but the titanium finish looks incredibly sharp IMHO. Check out the webite at

The only problem with the bars you guys are recommending is that none of them are 31.8mm. One option to get around that is to get your hands on a set of Marzocchi handlebar shims and then install them with whatever stem you are running. Then use a scribe to carefully mark the edges of the shims (sticking out pas the edges of the stem) Remove the shims and cut them down carefully with a hacksaw and then file smooth. I recently did this for a guy at the shop and it came out great. Another cool thing is that the Marzocchi shims are eccentric so you can micro-adjust the reach and rise of the stem.

Thanks giverpig!

The Answer Pro Taper bars do look nice, however they have a 26" width. I like nice wide handlebars like the Diabolus, I'm looking for something that's 28".

I've used those Marz shims in the past, however I'd really prefer just to get the 31.8 bars and not have to use the shims. It's a good idea if I can't find anything else though, I think I even have some of those shims around somewhere.

The Eastons are also nice bars, but once again, the EA50's come with 26" width.

Both the Raceface bars (Diabolus and Evolve) only come in black (according to their website) or this would be my first choice for sure.

And I think the Truvativ Holzfellers also only come in black. Does anyone know if they come in silver for sure, because those are great bars?

So far the Azonic Double Walls are the only ones! However I've heard that they are flexy because of their double wall design. SMT, do you find them to be flexy, or does anyone else using them find them to be flexy?

Thanks for all the suggestions.
