Looks like an amazing device but geared more toward rodies. Does anyone have it and use it for MTB? Any input will be appreciated

It's a very good and reliable device, a better deal than a simiarly priced Garmin 830. Does not do TrailForks, which is a significant shortcoming and one they know then need to integrate and is taking a long time. You are correct that simiarly to a Wahoo, very road centric, as it uses Open Street Maps which are marginal at showing single track, better at gravel roads. It shows a road but no way to determine where pavement ends. RWGPS is doing this though and you can easily port a RWGPS map to a K2. I've used a K2 for 6 mos., It's terrific at road navigation, has a terrific screen and great TBT, better than a Garmim. Quirky with no BT for route downloading and completed ride uploads, which Garmin does and is easier to use. It relies on Wifi and can use a phone data card for remote operation (not as convenient as BT)
I've had a K2 for a little while and use it between mtb and road bikes. I like it a lot more than the Garmin 800 I have. Maybe the local maps for me are more detailed, but I've found mtb routing to be much better than the Garmin. The screen display is a huge improvement too.

So did it actually have MTB trails on it? I’ve heard there in no integration with Trailforks?

Not with Trailforks, but some of the local mtb trails show up on OSM.
I don't have it but when I read your reviews it makes me want to have it.
I have a K2. Had a Wahoo Bolt and Edge 520 before. The K2 is way better than both for nav and it functions/feels like a phone. For trailforks I use a combo of Komoot and Trailforks. Download a trail into Komoot then sync it with Hammerhead. It’s pretty seamless and takes about 2 minutes

The latest Suunto heatmap feature is really cool. Shows heatmaps on the device and it works with a free Suunto account, no need for a watch.

If you run your K2 with a sim you also don’t have to worry about having Wi-Fi nearby to sync your routes and rides.
