Sorry, but that would be retarded. Your brakes wouldnt work as good. Just get a long straight cable for the back, and run a cable thru your headset/steertube for the front brake.

A cheaper way to do this without having to buy 2 cables, would be buy a whole new long cable for the back, and use your old rear cable for the front, just cut it a bit.

Yeah thats what most guys do. The Gyro adds alot of weight and really messes with your braking power. Just go long cable, you'll thank yourself later.

You don't need Gyro tabs. Just mount the included lower Gyro plate between the frame and headset. A properly set up Gyro does not affect your braking enough to notice.

That said most Gyros are not designed for the longer cable pull of V-brakes or MTB Mech-Discs. Road Mech-Discs will work as normal. I've installed regular Gyros on a couple of V-brake equipped bikes and it takes some time to get them right as you are using pretty much all of the available cable movement in the cable splitters. Using a Primo Pervert cable splitter on the uppers and dual cables on the lowers makes life easier though.

My personal bikes I use a Odyssey Linear cable. It gives me one rotation either way from straight and motivated me to learn barspins throwing either way.

Do not use derailer housing. It's not made to handle braking forces and I've seen a few people wreck due to the housing splitting mid-trick.
