Hi all,

I am traveling to Gunnison in early August. I live in NJ. Yes...enjoy the laughs now but fortunately I am a Western State graduate. I'm coming back for a visit and wanting to mountain bike as much as possible. It's been about 7 years since I last mountain biked in the CB, Gunnison area. I remember some trails at Hartman's Rocks but have forgotten much of CB. I'm in search of friendly locals interested in taking a fun, fit, Jersey girl on a few rides. Thanks, - Christine

I cannot believe that in 4 days not one Crusted Butt guy has taken this young lady up on her offer! And you call yourselves Red-Blooded-Mountain-Bikers!?! You guys make a fella want to convert to road bikes! :nono:
I'd help you out, YHG, but I know next to nothing about the Butte. If you wanna pop over the hill to Snowmass Village, I can show you some world class 1-track. That is, if you don't mind riding with an old fart. :D

World class single! I can't decide what to hit today. Rim or Government? Maybe a combination of it all with the Cross Mountain and Connector? Or should I drop to the otherside of town and hit some Hunter Creek to 4-Corners?

Either way I bet I won't see a soul on the trails. To have such buttery singletrack with no people! I guess it is Saturday. I will probably see one rider or two. Hehe. It almost seems like our trails are some kind of known secret. Even people that know about them in Carbondale still ride Mushroom and the Crown and Scout all Summer long!

Come on over to Aspen/Snowmass yellowhouse! You don't need Crested Butte! Hehe.

yes...Gunnar the wolfdog will be with me also!

BillyBobzia,

Whom might you be? Yes...I have Gunnar, the large wolf dog. We're both gonna be in Gunny for August. Yes, Jersey can be annoying but I'm in graduate school so I don't have any options of leaving any time soon. Hopefully in a couple of years. I'm teaching 3rd grade so I have July and August off! Yay! Send me an update. Thanks gentleman for the kind invitation in Aspen. Not quite sure I'll be dropping in there. If I do, I send you an email.

Hey Bill!

I remember you too! Congratulations on your family. That is excellent. The last time I saw you, you were moving to Oregon? I'm going to local school for grad program in education technology. I love teaching. Took me 5 years to find a career. Gunnar is 9 now. He's hanging in there. He's excited for Gunnison. We won't be able to hike as much though...Gunnar has arthritis. Anyway, I will look you up. I've never ridden on the front range. I'm sure it would be fun. I emailed Jonathan but haven't heard from him yet. I'm sure he's busy. Take care, Christine

Hey Bill,

I will be in CO from August 6th-20th? or when I begin to run

Huh? I did have a white jeep at one time. I did sell it to a nice guy who worked at Christy Sports. I think he still sells skis somewhere in Summit County now. Hmm....
