I'm thinking about starting to play with my shock by changing the oil volume. I know the Maverick manual recommends a 80W assembly oil but wanted to see what specific brands other riders had used. Anyone have any recommendations of specific brands to use or avoid or anything else to consider in picking an oil?

Bushing Lubricant

Excellent question!
The old "Gunna Flo" is a Torco product called MPZ Assembly Lube. this is also the same stuff as Red Rum from Sram Pit Stop products and the Fox Float Fluid. These are all, or have been the Torco oil but with slightly reduced viscosity. The MPZ lube has a cSt value of about 120 and the Red Rum is about 60, both pretty thick.
We use the Red Rum (cheaper than the Torco) but cut it with 5 or 10wt oil, i do a 50/50 mix.
This lightens the viscosity but still retains the slippery properties of the assembly lube.
If you are not able to locate any of those oils, a standard 15 or 20wt suspension fluid is best.
Slick Honey is another fantastic lube for wiper seals, it is very slippery and stays in place.

Torco MPZ assembly could be used for lubing DUC 32 internal bushings (inside H) instead 10-15 ml 5wt oil?
No way.

Any type of engine assembly lube is too heavy/sticky-(causing much drag) for the fork bushings/stanchion interface.

The Maverick forks like to have 5w or 7w Fox Green (if ya can find it) is the best.

Its ok! The MPZ is a little different than the "air spring fluid" Torco makes, but not for aftermarket sales from Torco.
I highly recommend 2 fluids:
Fox 10wt GREEN suspension fluid, great bushing lubricant, shitty damper fluid!
And Srams (Maxima) 15w50 lube. Maxima Racing oils Extra 4 cycle oil.
This is what Sram uses this in the rear shock bushing area.
If you can find Srams Red Rum, that will work but cut it by 50% with a lighter fluid for better circulation.
