You all were great at giving me some feedback on a Cannondale, which I missed out on. Now here's one for you about a couple GT Aggressors listed locally.

http://dayton.craigslist.org/bik/2211550844.html

http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/bik/2224482116.html

I have exchanged some emails with the guy who owns the first one, and he will come down to $150. I really wanted to stay more toward $100, which the second one is listed for. The guy pointed out that the other one needs a new shifter. I haven't spoken to this owner yet, so I don't know exactally what the problem is. He also mentioned that I needed to make sure that the other bike wasn't manufactured after GT sold out to Pacific bikes in China. Know anything about this, or is the guy blowin smoke up my :eekster: ?

So, just lookin for some opinions, and what you think is the better deal.

Thanks!
Mitch

Yea it looks like you are right.:madman: Craigslist is so frustrating sometimes. I never even heard from the guy.

Anyhow. Does $150 seem reasonable for the first bike? Also, he said it is a 16" frame. I'm 6' does that seem like the right size?

No, $150 seems high. At 6', you will likely need a frame in the 19"-20" range anyway. I'd keep looking.

Bike is old, too small for you and not very good. Buy a bike like a 2nd hand Giant. Keep it 2006 onwards if you can afford it.
Thanks for the advice, I think I'm going to pass on the GT, altough it looken nice.

Here are a couple Giants, matching mens/womens I was hoping to check out this weekend, they are asking $200 (negotiable I think) for the both of them. He says they are about 10 years old, and are in great shape. Not sure what size though, so that could be a deal breaker.

I have an Aggressor xc1 great bike but there a few things that you might want to change to suit your riding style. I swapped out the stock pedals and tyres first of then put a wider bar on along with a shorter stem. I got the 20" frame and I'm 6 4" it fits fine even with the shorter stem. Saddle is very good. Avid Juicy 3's are fine..but will get swapped out one day soon.

Priority for me were the tyres being swapped as being here in grey, soggy blighty the stock tyres had no grip. Fork is good. SLX front mech was a bit useless in the gloop so I hacked it off and went 1x9 but thats an entirely personal preference.

Thanks for the reply. I don't really know what half of it means:confused: , but I appreciate the info.

I already told this guy I'm not interested, because of the size. I have gotten the impression from several sources that I need a larger frame. I plan on going to a bike shop this weekend and trying some out to see what style/size suites me.

Any one have any opinions on the Giants above?
