I'm in the market for a new set of handbuilt wheels. Lightweight and cost are my main concerns. I found a well-known vendor that's willing to build me a set at a great price. Then, I started to wonder if other people would be interested in the same wheel build. I don't see a Group Buy forum, so I thought I'd throw the idea out to everyone here.
Rims - DT Swiss XR 4.1 (425g each)
Hubs - DT Swiss 240s (96g front, 250g rear)
Spokes - DT Swiss Supercomps (318g for 64 pcs)
colors: any color as long as it's black
Price-wise, I'm thinking about one or two Hamilton notes over $400. I, of course, haven't even spoken to the vendor at all about it, so there's no guarantee on price, or even if he'll agree to the whole Group Buy idea at all. Anyway, just a thought. What do you guys think?
