I have SRAM X.0 shifters on an Easton handlebar set up. My grips slip. Even tried hairspray and bailing wire. I am looking to get new grips and was wondering if it is even possible to use locking grips with grip shifters. If so, do they make short versions? If not, any recommendations on making them stick?

Been using it to make grips stick for over twenty years now.

Spray it inside the grips/rotate 'em around to make sure they're coated/dump out the excess/slip 'em on/wait thirty minutes and ride.
