Ref: 2005 GF Tassajara with Shimano XTR BR950 v-brakes, stock WTB rims
I have just been upgraded to new v-brakes and have a really horrendous grinding sound/feel while braking. It's like I have pads made of concrete! Pads are clean, rims are clean, no scratches or damage. A few times the brakes will be fine, then all of a sudden, GRRRRIIINNNDDD. both fr & rr. Hi & low speed, soft and hard braking.
In fact, the old, stock brakes had this happening, so I changed to new Avid pads. Adjusted for toe-in, etc. Still grinding. Upgraded system to Shimano XTR; still grinding.
Any suggestions?
