Just picked up a used wheelset for my budget on-one 456 build and the rear hub is a Grimeca (9spd cassette). Can't seem to find much info on them...seems to spin really well and its super loud which is weird, just curious if anyone shed some light on them.

Thanks.

If I remember right, Grimeca was an Italian motorcycle part manufacturer that made stuff for Shimano. Essentially, they made Shimano parts with Shimano name on it but also made their own parts in Italy that had their name on it. Mostly known for the initial Shimano hydraulic brakes back in the 90's I believe.

Therefore, what you have I believe is probably a "Shimano" hub...........

Type into Google "Grimeca Images".

Actually it was the first SRAM (pre-Avid acquisition) 4 pot brakes that were Grimeca System 8's. Believe the XT's were a similar design but not just rebadged like the SRAM's.

Don't know anything about the hubs
