Hi fellow homers.
Uggi just got me an Easton MokeyLite XC handlebar for my 5spot. :D
In the process of setting it up (torque wrench and all), it occured to me that the remote control of my Gravity-Droppper is pretty thin overall. Should I be worried of it overly stressing the handlebar due to its thin profile ?! [Search gave me nothing on this...]

Thanks!

Been doing the same no probs, just don't overtighten the clamp on the bar not for the bars sake the clamp is easliy broken or mine was anyways my buddy did the same and I didn't use to much force to tighten it up though I would could have rbeen more wary if I was aware it would do that, fix zipped tired it to my clamp on my XO shirfer so it won't move all good though might get a nicley machined one from my LBS whos a lathe magician, bling it up:D

Tal, since i never run into riding why dont you post a current pic of your blinged-out 5Spot?
Ive been trying to convince people on the local all mountain forum that mine is a working mans build with very low bling but they got all excited cos i have a ti coil on my romic and a decenter post...

My build

Here ya go PSI. Actually, its about time I post it in the '5spot builds' section, but it just changes constantly...

Bicycle tire Tire Wheel Bicycle wheel Bicycle wheel rim

A few higthlights:
1. Not really blingy at all. Just plain fun.
2. Bike changes between an all-mountain build like pictured now, with a GD, 2.35 nevegals, 959 or FlatBoy flats - fantastic fun for Kerem Maharal and the like (~30.5lbs), and a more XC setup with 2.1 nevs on both sides, thomson seatpost, etc - 28.5lbs, fast enough to enjoy long XC rides with friends.
3. Nevegals are by FAR the best tires I've tried. Both with Stans. Took me 2 weeks after returning back to tubes to understand how dumb that was... 2.35 is VERY VERY slow though. 2.1 amazing rear tire. Currently checking it up front.
4. Just added a MonkeyLite XC handlebar. Uggi. I do only small <2' drops so it shouldn't be an issue.
5. Just love the Vanilla.

5spot is a amazing bike, but I can't find one setup that works for everything I like to ride. Burly fun for Kerem Maharal is slow and un-fun on long XC rides with fast friends...

I may just end up with another set of lighter wheels. In such a case, switching between builds becomes a quick 10 minute issue. Or become a poseur and get an RFX

See you on the trails...
