Thanks for the reply. The Death March sounds like a fun event. I'll keep it on the calandar for next year. I've got the Gravel Grovel site bookmarked. I'll keep an eye on it for updates. I'm still working on a dedicated gravel/winter bike. Was going to update an old mountain bike, but have decided to go with a new, lighter cross frame. Haven't picked one yet, but hope to begin a build soom.

The Death March was a similar course with some singletrack thrown in,weather was perfect. I'd say it was about a 50/50 split of cross and 29ers for rigs.
