im going to get one. which one should i get. seems like most you guys have the same type, or maybe its just nino posts more weights then anyone else.

i did a long search for the best scale for my needs and ended up with the MY WEIGH "iBalance 5500"

My weigh has other scales as well usually the lesser capacity/precision the cheaper they get. for me the 5500 is just the perfect mix and is large enough to be able to weigh just about everything except complete bikes. i like the 0,1 precision too as it really shows minor savings for example when dremelling or changing bolts on derailleurs etc...not that you really need it but the WWsickness we have such a scale can make you happy when it shows 0,1g less

thanks nino, as you probally guessed im going for a cheaper one(poor college kid syndrome). i think im getting the My Weigh(brand based on your input) 3001p, as it has a 3000g capacity with 1g resolution, at only 29.95.

now whats all this with calibration weights, and why would you need different ones?

it just a weight that has been verified to weigh an exact amount, so that you can test precision on your scale and calibrate it

I have 2 cheap gram scales. The My Weigh is the best of them. I also have a 100gr test weight to check the accuracy, and both scales were perfect. The My Weigh can use batteries or can be plugged in.

I just picked up a $20 scale at Harbor Freight. It only reads to 1 gram (no tenths like Nino's) but it's cheap and in stock, so no shipping charges. Also comes with an AC adaptor, or you can buy 4 AA batteries to run it. Reads in grams, pounds, or ounces.

Sorry, I don't have a calibrated weight to check accuracy, but I think it's close enough for me. I'm not as sick as some of you!
