OK Gram, you're site suggests your using the mojo as a WW test bike, so how does one save meaningful weight on an xtr build without wasting the tasty parts it comes with (e.g. - I'm not going to trade in my xtr wheels).

...and yes, I realize the question reflects a lack of true WW dedication (which is why I post it here, not on that thread):D

My build

Me: 135 lb. xc rider

My 2007 med. mojo is mostly stock for the xtr build

XTR: cranks/bb, der's, wheels, cassette, brakes and levers, shifters (not dual control), chain, and pedals (did I forget anything?)

Shock: rp23
Fork: float rlc
Tires: either kenda sb8's or wtb raijin's, run w/maxxis ultralight tubes
Headset: FSA IS2
Stem: Ibis 100mm
Bar: Money-lite XC
Post: Easton EC90
Saddle: WTB rocket team
Clamp: Ibis mojo sl (non-qr)
Grips: ESI racers edge

Work your magic...

OK.. not much to be done here without spending losta money for little gain..
But here goes

Fork: Mantiou or DT
Wheels: Stan's ZTR7000
Saddle: SLR (some go as low as 60-70ish grams)
Shock: DT XR Carbon
Tires: I think the Karma are a lil lighter than the SB8s (go tubeless with yellow tape.)
Brakes: Hope Mono Mini Pro
Pedal: CB 4Ti

That's about it... Your build looks like it should come in at a smidge over 24lbs... is that too heavy?

Skewers, look at kcnc ti QR or controltech ti bolt-on.
Shifters X.0 twisters instead of XTR (need to match rearD too)
chain: KMC X9SL
Stem: no idea about the weight of the ibis stem, but as an alternative look at syntace f99 or kcnc sc wing
Cable housing: alligator i-link

Not too heavy at all...I love it, but there is always something more to work on...

Let me give it a try...

EDIT 1: redid with weight savings (the numbers are ballpark for some of the items)
EDIT 2: added a ** for ones that are best bang for the buck (and easiest to do) and one for the saddle *** cause they can be a bit pricey

Easy and cheap (well relative) changes:

Monkeylite SL bars -25g
Alligator i-Link housing -21g
Powercordz shift cables -18g
**Ti bolt kit -46g
**Plastic inserts for water bottle bolts -7g
**Tubeless conversion -50g
KCNC SC Wing stem ? (don't know the Ibis stem weight) -10g OK>ignore this one per Pocket Rockets last update
Sram Attack twist shifters -40g
**KMC X10SL chain (yea it works for 9 speed) -40g
***Saddle - various such as Selle Italia SLR -50g thru 80g+
**KCNC MTB skewers -73g
KCNC Ti Pro seatpost -30g
**Alligator rotors (you have the center lock so there is a conversion adapter needed) -56g

Expensive changes:

Marta SL brakes -200g
Manitou Minute MRD fork -230g
DT Swiss carbon rear shock -70g

Nice...I've got nylon inserts where I can, I think the next steps will be:

-Saddle (phenom sl (not the lightest, but my crew is pretty picky:D and that saddle is getting great reviews)
- Ti/Al bolts
- Skewers - KCNC? - or some bolt-ons?
- Going Tubeless, but need to experiment with this one, seeing which tires work well with the xtr's (and with or without an added strip, and which among the choices out there)
