Have a set of Truvativ Descendant Carbon cranks. Today managed to put a solid gouge in them in a rather stupid way. No crash or impact, tried to ride over a stretched and low slung wire fence, wire managed to get hooked on crank arm and result is shown below.

Gave it a good mark. Cant see any de-lamination, nor feel any broken fibres so thinking it might just be superficial. This wasn't a hard impact, cable just got pulled against the arm, but thought id get others consensus while I wait to hear back from Sram.

Lesson for the day, don't ride over wires

Definitely trashed. Fortunately, I run an extremely small non-profit bike parts organization that ensures these types of things are recycled correctly to reduce cycling’s impact on the environment. I’ll pm you a PO Box you cand send them to for proper disposal

you know, it may be fine, but guesswork is not my cup o tea if it were me

Looks fine to me. I would keep riding it. SRAM will likely say don't ride a damaged part.
