It's cool to see a dad out riding with his son. Good quality time spent and fun for everyone.kitchenware said:...with my son.
Up from the Antelope side and he almost made it to the loop. Not bad for 6.
This one is coming down into the valley.

And post ride in the 'Lope lot...
Yip, it's an 03 Fester. We picked it up from Performance here in boulder for a song. Jamis really does have the kids bike thing down.2farfwd said:Is that a Jamis Fester your son is riding? Jamis make some bangin little kids mountain bikes. My son is only two and I am already eyeing his first mountain bike![]()
Yeah, traction was great.ewl said:Hey, saw you guys coming up the road from the trailhead. Awesome to see your son hitting the trails. It was a great day to be out after all the rain lately!
My wife has a Jamis Durango SX she has been riding for a few years now and she loves it!kitchenware said:Yip, it's an 03 Fester. We picked it up from Performance here in boulder for a song. Jamis really does have the kids bike thing down.
I just ordered a XS (12") Jamis Durango SX frame for my daughter who is 9. It has disc mounts and about the lowest standover/frame size I could find. I've got some Avid Mechs sitting in the closet and a rigid disc fork to stick on it... Should make for a great first mtnbike if I can keep the weight reasonable.
That's where I got it. I couldn't find a better deal on a disc frame that small. I've got a pile of parts to get it started, but it won't be finished for another couple of weeks.2farfwd said:I think Jensonusa is blowing out the Durango frames for like $109 bucks.
My son is 6 and this is his first geared bike, but he could have done it earlier if he had the bike.headhunter said:How young were your kids when they were able to shift gears?
Thanks for REALLY motivating me!
