You will be very happy the wave design its great at keeping the pads cool and the rotor from warping. Galfer designed it for motos then brought it to MTB but as of last year they quit making rotors and pads for MTB. :madman:

Why did Shimano ever stop making them? And what ever happened to Gremmica? Didn't they make the XT's too. I know they were the same brake and stuff. ttyl, Fahn

Why do people call 4-piston calipers "4 pot"?
guess cause the pistons look like little "pots". googled it but couldnt find any solid reasons.... all i know is that ebay store above has a set of 8 POT brakes....

I have read that on this site several times and know that Galfer rotors are not generally available.

I wonder why they are still listed on the Galfer website?

They always say they are not pulling out of MTB when asked. They were the first to make steel braided hose in different colors, that lasted about 2 years till they discontinued saying they were not. The availability of new pads never expanded with models then dropped about 3 years ago yet they claimed they were not stopping manufacture. In '08 stock of rotors at BTI was not being reordered as they were selling out, I didnt waste my time to hear the same answer at this point they answered my questions.

Galfer brake products were awesome possibly Shiggy has better input on a real answer to the question.

Well, If I ever balloon to the weight of a motorcycle, and I'm still riding, I'll conside them.
Anyone know where I can find a 185mm Galfer rotor?

Thanks!

G
