Hey guys. I'm thinking about getting set of Syncros DS 28 rims for my trail bike, but I have only seen the little picture on Syncros' site. Anyone got pics of these rims on a bike? I usually run 2.4" tires, do you think these rims would fit them well? 28 mm seems about right to me.

It's only the rear wheel but will it help? I think the brand of the tire will matter alot. I have used a Maxxis Bling Bling 2.35, Specialized Enduro 2.1 and Geax Blade 2.25; All tires fit fine without a problem. Coincidentally the Geax is bigger than some larger rated tires that I've seen.

If you do a search you should be able to find quite a few pics on here. Among others, I've built wheels with the DS28 for FoShizzle, SSINGA, paddlefoot64, CrashTheDOG, El Beastro, etc. etc. Unless you're trying to keep the price down, definitely consider the DT5.1 also, same width but 40g lighter and still very strong. Also, the 32h DS28 rims have been very difficult to find recently. They are changing some things with their distribution and I'm told availability should improve again starting this month.

Very satisfied with mine. From what others have been writing here (Squeaky, et al), I would probably go with the DT 5.1 if I were building another set today. Here's a picture of mine. Most people hate the stickers. After this shot, I removed them. BTW, Larry built these and did a great job. The hubs are King Iso Discs.

I like my DS28 wheel and would definately build (ha, who am I kidding - more like have Larry build) another. The stickers have to go. Larry removed mine before shipping

This wheel was just a hair over 2lbs with tht Hope Bulb and Supercomp spokes w/ brass nips.

Nope not yet. Still deciding whether it is worth the hassles for the slight weight savings.
