Another Gooseberry Trip is in the books. Posted up on the Nevada forums and got a few takers for the 2+ hour roadtrip to get there. It always helps when I voluteer to drive
Shorty, E! and myself-the three amigos ride again!
We left Las Vegas around 1030am...a bit later than we had planned and arrived around 100pm. After getting ready we hit the trail. This was Erics first ride at the Goose so Shorty and I were looking foward to Showing him the trails. South Loop, Hidden Canyon, North Loop to the Point and all the way back on the South loop. We skipped Yellow trail but maybe next time.
Was a chill in the air so we all bundled up and even talked Eric in to wearing something a bit warmer(dude never gets cold) Was a good thing as by the time we got back to the car it was cold(low 40s) and just about dark. Great way to end the ride.
Of course we did run into a bit of drama on the trail which you dont expect out there. As we neared the point we passed a guy coming down. I usually stop to say hello but in this case we all just said hello and kept pedaling. A few feet further was a woman sitting down next to her bike. We all said hello and she just mumbled something back.
As we sat at the point reflecting on the scenery we all remarked that the woman seemed kind of strange-just a feeling I guess. We packed up the cameras and headed off the point towards south loop. Just as we started the woman appeared on her bike. She wanted to tell us that if we seen a guy looking for her not to tell him we seen her. We asked why not and she said that she ran into a tree and he got mad and started smashing here in the face over and over and wouldnt stop. Now, we are all looking at this lady and there is not a mark on her face. She seems a bit loony and her story is getting stranger and stranger. We tell the lady to follow us and we will straighten this matter out when we get to the TH. She refuses and says she will walk down the road and meet us back at the parking lot. This lady is creepy but I feel weird letting her walk down the road but after consulting with the Amigos we decide this lady is full of **** and a bit wacky to boot. When we get back to the TH we will go up the road and see if her ride left(the guy that supposedly beat her) Near the end of the South loop it closes within a few yards of the road and as we ride by I see law enforcement vehicles and paramedics. We stop and they ask us if we seen a lady out there somewhere. Why yes I say, there she is now coming down the road! We tell them what we know and finish the trail. The cops are there for another 30 minutes or so questioning her companion and she is in the back seat of the cops car. In the end the two ride off together to get their vehicle!
Was a weird way to end the day but gave us plenty of laughs on the way home.
Ok, my first video attempt along with some pics. New trail camera is the Panasonic LX3. Great camera, just have to get use to it.
