i'm trying to figure out a build for a urban bike, and i need a cheaper rear hub for SS. i found a nice BMX one that runs stupidly low gears, but is 140. anything cheaper? and small gears isn't a requirement.

I second the Surly vote. Small increase in price, well worth it for the quality and durability.

my on-one has done a good job so far for well under 140.

i think you can get a paul hub for less than that also. i ride one of those as well and that is a NICE hub...

You can't even come close to beating the Nashbar for the price. It is a little on the heavy side, but with a 20% off coupon, it is $28!!
