Get some Superfeet inserts and pretty much any shoe that they will fit in and fits you.
The Superfeet make a HUGE difference in the comfort of nearly any shoe. I use them in Pearl Isumi and adidas riding shoes.

I have used a hard orthodic in my everyday shoes since suffering a running injury 30 years ago. If I wear a shoe or sandal without them I am in agony at the end of the day. I have found that the Dr. Scholl's Advantage arch supports (blue on top, red on the bottom) work the best in biking shoes. You can find them at any pharmacy for around $10.

With all respect to Shiggy, I think the Superfeet inserts are a rip. I bought a pair, used them for a week and took them back. Worth $39? I don't think so.

Also- I have come to the conclusion that I will not buy another pair of shoes without trying them on. Over the years I have ordered two pair of bike shoes over the Internet. Both were size 47 (the size of my first pair of Shimanos which fit great). One of the pairs is too small and one is huge (I save it for when I wear thick socks). You might give that some thought.

Try Specialized

I tried them all. The Specialized Carbon Pro works perfect with my feet. I have a high arch.

There are at least 3 different models. You need the one that fits your feet AND shoes best.
$39? That is a rip. Full retail is $20-32.
